My mom's hurli chutney
- Hurli (horse gram seeds) - 1 cup
- Tamarind - quarter size
- Dried whole red chillies - 1
- Grated coconut - 1/4 cup
- Asafoetida - 1 pinch
- Salt to taste
- Soconut oil - 2 Tbsp
- Water - as required
- Heat the oil and roast the horse gram.
- In a blender, grind the roasted horse gram, tamarind, dried red chillies, grated coconut, asfoetida and salt with a little water. The blended mixture should be a thick paste.
