My mom's chutney powder
- Horsegram seeds - 1 cup
- Tamarind - quarter size ball
- Dried whole red chillies - 2
- Asafoetida - 1 spoon
- Coconut oil - 1 Tbsp
- Salt to taste
- In a flat pan, warm the oil.
- Roast the horsegram seeds, tamarind, chillies.
- Add a little more oil to the mixture and add the asafoetida.
- Take off heat. Once cool, use a grinder to grind into a rough powder.
- Store in an airtight container, in a cool dark place.
